What is Horizon Europe

Horizon Europe is the ninth framework program of the European Union (EU) for research and innovation. It has a total budget of €95.5 billion for the period 2021-2027 and is aimed at supporting world-class research and innovation in Europe. The program aims to reinforce the EU’s position as a science and technology leader and drive economic growth by funding research and innovation activities in a wide range of fields, including health, digital, energy, environment, transportation, and more recently, blockchain and decentralized technologies. Horizon Europe also seeks to promote international cooperation and strengthen the relationship between research and industry. By funding cutting-edge research and innovation projects, Horizon Europe aims to address some of the biggest challenges facing society and deliver solutions that will improve people’s lives and create new economic opportunities. In line with this, Horizon Europe will also support the development and application of blockchain and decentralized technologies to address a wide range of challenges and create new opportunities in areas such as digital identity, secure data sharing, and secure, transparent and efficient supply chains, among others.

To apply for funding through Horizon Europe, you will need to submit a proposal for a research and innovation project that aligns with the program’s goals and objectives.
